Welcome to St Peter’s Cathedral

a Christ-centred, sacramental, inclusive, thinking,
mission-oriented faith community.

St. Peter's Cathedral in Adelaide is a landmark in the City of Adelaide.

This beautiful Cathedral is the mother church of the Anglican Diocese of Adelaide, and home to a dynamic and inclusive sacramental community, which cherishes excellent liturgy, music and preaching.

Built in the 19th century, this Gothic-style cathedral is a testament to the religious and cultural heritage of South Australia. The cathedral features intricate stained-glass windows, soaring stone arches, and a towering spire that serves as a prominent landmark in the city's skyline.

Visitors are drawn to the cathedral's beauty, both inside and outside, as well as its rich history and spiritual significance.

Whether you're a local resident or just passing through Adelaide, St. Peter's Cathedral is a must-see attraction that offers a glimpse into the city's past and present; and a spiritual home for a thriving and welcoming community.

St Peter’s Cathedral is a ‘Sacred Space’ standing on the land of the Kaurna nation. The Kaurna have been custodians of this land for millennia. St Peter’s Cathedral acknowledges this custodianship, and we pay our respects to Kaurna elders, past, present, and those who are emerging.

St Peter’s Cathedral is home to many people, particularly the people of Adelaide, of which the Cathedral truly deserves the reputation of being one of its most iconic buildings. An icon is a means by which we approach God, and St Peter’s Cathedral certainly does that.
