Wedding Music

You will need to choose two organ voluntaries, one for the entrance of the bride, and one for you both to process from the Cathedral. Typically a choral piece is sung while the register is signed.

For the bride's procession you may choose one of:

  • Johann Pachelbel: Canon in D major
  • Jeremiah Clark: Prince of Denmark's March (Trumpet Voluntary)
  • G.F. Handel: Horn Pipe
  • John Stanley: Trumpet Tune
  • Henry Purcell: Trumpet Tune in D
  • C.S. Lang: Tuba Tune
  • Andre Campra: Rigaudon
  • G.F. Handel: Minuet and Trio
  • For the wedding procession you may choose one of:
  • Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy: Wedding March from A Midsummer Night's Deam
  • Jeremiah Clark: Prince of Denmark's March (Trumpet Voluntary)
  • G.F. Handel: Horn Pipe
  • John Stanley: Trumpet Tune
  • Henry Purcell: Trumpet Tune in D
  • C.S. Lang: Tuba Tune

  • G.F. Handel: Minuet and Trio
  • During the signing of the registers you may have the choir sing one of:
  • John Rutter: All things bright and beautiful
  • Cesar Franck: Panis Angelicus
  • J.S. Bach, arr. Gounod: Ave Maria
  • J.S. Bach: Jesu, joy of man's desiring
  • Or have the organist plays one of the other organ pieces. A CD of this music is available at the Information Session mentioned above
