The Rev'd Jenny Wilson
Jenny Wilson was born in England in 1959. Her parents came to live in Adelaide when Jenny was 6 months of age. After completing her schooling at St Andrew’s School and Methodist Ladies’ College, Jenny studied Mathematics and Music at The University of Adelaide and was awarded a First Class Honours Degree in Pure Mathematics in 1983 and a Diploma of Education in 1984. She taught Mathematics at Sacred Heart Senior College before travelling to England in 1986 to teach at Soham Village College in Cambridgeshire and, later, The Henley College in Henley-on-Thames, Berkshire. Jenny returned to Adelaide in 1990 where she taught Maths at Pembroke School until 2000.
Jenny left teaching to embark on a Bachelor of Theology at Flinders University. She was ordained a Deacon in February 2006 and Priested in December of the same year. Jenny was Assistant Curate at All Souls’, St Peters for two years prior to her appointment as Associate Priest at St Peter’s Cathedral in February 2008. She acts in the role of Precentor at the Cathedral, supporting the Dean and the Music Department in the preparation of liturgy. In the life of the Cathedral, Jenny particularly enjoys pastoral care and preaching and celebrating the Eucharist in the midst of the wonderful voices of the Cathedral Choir.
Jenny is married to Nicholas Iles, an Adelaide lawyer. They have two children, Lucy and Harriet. The family lives with two dogs, Pavlova and Fergus, as well as two cats and seven chickens. Jenny enjoys walking, reading, singing, listening to classical music and drinking tea in the company of her chickens.
